Happy New Year! I hope 2013 brings everyone the best of health and happiness, and that you accomplish all your resolutions.
Here are some of mine:
–Avoid the library. The reason this is a resolution is because I have a million books in my house that I have not read. They have been sitting around for years gathering dust and begging me to read them. Yet I still keep going to the library, checking out books, and reading those books first. No more of that! Time to read the books I have lying around. I usually set a more definite reading goal (X number of books), but this year, I won’t do that.
–Finish the thousandth draft of XIII. My longest work in progress was supposed to be finished three or four years ago. I have worked out a reasonable writing schedule, and if I stick to that schedule, I will succeed in finishing XIII once and for all before December 31, 2013. I’d like to start micro-editing and hopefully get it published in 2014. (It would be great if I could get XIII published in 2013, but I can’t see that happening. Oh, well.)
–Blog every weekday. I don’t think this one needs explaining. 🙂
–Worldbuilding. I have a set of novels that take place in a bizarre fictional town. These stories are full of inconsistencies, continuity flaws, and other unmentionables. My goal here is to get my world in order. To be entirely honest, I have no clue how I’m going to go about doing this. But I’ll give it my best shot.
And three tentative goals:
-Complete Camp NaNo April, Camp NaNo July, and NaNoWriMo. These are tentative because I have resolved to finish XIII, and I will let nothing stand in the way of that goal.
Good luck on your goals and resolutions for this new year!
