Camp NaNoWriMo Midpoint Update

I’ve been stuck at 8,656 words for the past few days, not because I’m lacking ideas or inspiration, but because I have had an extremely busy week at work, so when I got home, the last thing I wanted to do was stare at a screen again.

Now that it’s the weekend, I’m going to try to catch up. I did end up lowering my word count from 25,000 to 15,000, so that should help some. (I must win at all costs!)

The background and setting of my story are coming together nicely, and I have a little bit more detail on the characters than I’ve had before. So now I want to get into the actual outlining of the scenes. That should be easier now that the background stuff is out of the way.

Hope your Camp project is going well!

  1. Maggie! That’s so great that you’re still going! To be honest, I decided to completely drop out a few days ago. I just realized how much I wasn’t in love with my story. I got overwhelmed with work, too, and then just didn’t find the passion to keep telling my character’s story. I started a completely new story while I was at a writing group last night. You never know when inspiration will strike I guess. 🙂
