Camp NaNoWriMo April 2016: Almost Done

I have only 413 more words to go until I finish my “outline” for Camp NaNoWriMo, and it definitely turned out to be more of a brainstorming session than a true outline. (I outlined up to only scene 15 or so.) I think I am heading toward writing more of a dystopia kind of story than a fantasy story… that is, if I do decide to write it.

While I was attempting to get ideas together and brainstorm a plot, I realized that I don’t care as much for this story as I do for the other one I’m working on (the series that has been going on for over 10 years now). That might change as time passes, and I may get a sudden flash of inspiration.

That’s what exercises like Camp NaNo are good for—exploring ideas and trying new things and seeing what you like and don’t like in terms of writing. And, of course, trying to amass a much larger word count than you normally would in a month just because you have an excuse to ignore your friends and family. 🙂

Hope your Camp is wrapping up to your satisfaction!
