The Thursday Three #30

  1. NaNoWriMo is less than a week away and I’m not ready. My wrists aren’t ready, my brain isn’t ready, and my schedule isn’t ready. But against all odds, I will press on and aim for the great 50,000 word count. Despite my better judgment, I’m considering handwriting my draft once again, mostly because that is a better way to ensure that my files don’t get deleted, and I don’t want to have to drag a laptop around everywhere I go. I’ll just have to make sure my pens don’t run out of ink. 🙂
  2. The presidential election is only a couple weeks away, and I can’t wait for the whole shebang to be over. I went out and voted early in the hopes that maybe it would make the time between now and the actual election go by more quickly… or at least that I wouldn’t feel so hassled by the constant barrage of advertisements and news briefs. (Also, this is my usual election-time message to my readers: Go out and vote! Vote wisely and perform your civic duty!)
  3. Quote of the day (from St. Thomas Aquinas):

The things that we love tell us what we are.

  1. NaNoWriMo almost sneaked up on me. I’m getting ready early. The first two weeks of odd-numbered months are also when Cigar Snob Magazine takes over my life. I plan to edit 30,000 words for them while writing 50,000 words for myself. Fun times.

  2. Hi Maggie,

Very glad to hear that you voted. Regardless of whom you chose, you exercised that precious right that so many have fought and died to preserve for all of us. Let’s just pray that whoever wins doesn’t get us into another war and/or another recession.

Hope all is well with you. Please give my love to the rest of the family.

    Love, Uncle Pete

    1. Yes… our choices this year are (to say the least) not great, but I always vote, even in the minor elections. It’s one of the few ways to get change to happen. Everything is fine with us — hope things are good with you all. Love you!
